
David Zlotnik
A seasoned leader in marketing, public relations and communications, David serves as Vice President of Marketing & Communications at TSMGI. In addition to overseeing the full breadth of the McDonald’s Character Program as well as McDonald’s partnership with the 23XI Racing team, David also leads TSMGI’s in-house creative team, The Studio, the company’s IT initiatives as well as new business development and overarching agency creative strategy.
David joined TSMGI at the end of 2017, following a distinguished 10-years at McDonald’s Corporation, where he held multiple global leadership roles and led major brand-building efforts including McDonald’s global Olympics sponsorship, Happy Meal partner programs and Ronald McDonald House Charities. As Director of Global Family Marketing, he spearheaded the global relaunch of Ronald McDonald, updating the beloved character for a modern audience and building a positive social media presence. David also developed strategies and campaigns to promote McDonald’s long-standing commitment to children and families, including initiatives with the Clinton Global Initiative/Alliance for a Healthier Generation and health-focused programs tied to the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Earlier in his career, David was an Account Director at DDB Chicago, where he developed advertising strategies for clients such as McDonald’s, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an MBA in Marketing from DePaul University. His expertise has been featured in prominent media outlets including The TODAY Show, Ad Age, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Crain’s Chicago Business and Mashable.
Originally from Lincolnwood, IL, and San Diego, CA, David now lives in Highland Park with his wife and three children. Outside of work, David enjoys cooking, gardening, fitness, quality family time and a healthy dose of “junk” TV. He also proudly serves on the Board of Directors for Camp For All Kids, supporting inclusive summer camp experiences for underserved youth.
